Orkla Builds Food Biz With $1B Rieber & Son Buy

Law360, New York (August 20, 2012, 12:49 PM EDT) -- Nordic branded consumer goods company Orkla ASA has entered a 6.1 billion kroner ($1 billion) deal with competitor Rieber & Son ASA for 90 percent of the Rieber family's stake in the company, allowing Orkla to expand into new product categories, it said in a statement Monday.
