Turkey Targets Linde, Other Gas Cos. In Antitrust Probe

Law360, New York (August 20, 2012, 2:10 PM EDT) -- Turkey's competition officials on Friday launched an investigation into allegations that three industrial gas sellers, including Linde AG, exchanged pricing information and avoided giving customers competitive price quotes.

The Turkish Competition Authority will investigate whether Germany-based Linde's Turkish unit Linde Gaz AS, as well as Turkish producers Yalizlar Sinai & Tibbi Gazlar and Orsez Sinai Tibbi Gazlar, violated the country's Law No. 4054 on the Protection of Competition, which prohibits agreements and practices that restrict competition.
