Ex-Freddie Mac CEO Pushes To Kill SEC Suit

Law360, New York (August 20, 2012, 8:23 PM EDT) -- A lawyer for the former CEO of Freddie Mac on Monday pushed to dismiss a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission securities fraud suit, saying he did not mislead investors about the extent of Freddie's subprime holdings.

Richard F. Syron, who left Freddie after subprime mortgages caused the mortgage financing company's share price to implode, had nothing to gain by lying to investors, lawyer Thomas Green of Sidley Austin LLP told U.S. District Judge Richard Sullivan at oral arguments.
