Cardinal Subpoenaed By DEA, DOJ Over Drug Diversion

Law360, New York (August 22, 2012, 3:38 PM EDT) -- Cardinal Health Inc. on Wednesday said it was responding to civil subpoenas from the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, following a settlement with the DEA over allegations that the drug distributor had filled suspicious orders for painkiller oxycodone.

According to Cardinal's statement in a quarterly report filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, while the company had previously accepted a two-year ban on shipping prescription drugs from its Florida distribution center and enhanced its oversight procedures to settle the DEA’s allegations...
