Viacom Fights 'Jersey Shore' Star Over 'Twinning' Mark

Law360, Los Angeles (August 22, 2012, 8:14 PM EDT) -- Viacom International Inc. recently sought to block “Jersey Shore" star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino's attempts to trademark the word “twinning,” claiming it owns the rights to the catch phrases that have been popularized on the MTV reality series.

Viacom on Aug. 15 filed a notice with the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board opposing an application lodged by MPS Entertainment LLC, a company Sorrentino owns with his brother, to trademark the word.
