DirecTV Beats Technicians' Class Cert. Bid In Wages Suit

Law360, New York (August 28, 2012, 3:15 PM EDT) -- A California judge rejected a class certification bid Friday brought on behalf of installation and maintenance workers in a meal break and overtime case against DirecTV Inc. after the plaintiffs failed to identify an ascertainable class, attorneys for DirecTV said.

Judge Anthony Mohr denied a motion for class certification on what plaintiffs Saulo Guzman and Ivan Morales called the “limited threshold issue” of the nature of their employment relationship with DirecTV from the bench on Friday, Jackson Lewis LLP's Joel Kelly said.
