Toshiba Resolves Price-Fixing Suit Over Patent Deals

Law360, New York (August 30, 2012, 2:54 PM ET) -- Electronics maker Toshiba Corp. on Wednesday settled an antitrust action brought in California federal court by a proposed class of consumers who accused the company of fixing prices on flash memory through illicit patent-licensing and other agreements with multiple tech giants.

The group of indirect purchaser plaintiffs agreed to dismiss all claims against Toshiba, along with its Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. unit with prejudice, and both sides will bear their own costs and attorneys’ fees, according to the stipulation and proposed order.
