LeAnn Rimes Says Mom, Daughter Illegally Taped Call

Law360, New York (August 31, 2012, 2:16 PM EDT) -- LeAnn Rimes filed a privacy lawsuit Thursday against a mother and daughter who allegedly recorded a phone conversation with her, excerpts from which they “spitefully” ensured would be posted online.

Rimes sued Kimberly Smiley and her daughter Lexi in Los Angeles Superior Court for violating California’s eavesdropping law and intrusion, alleging they are “cyber-harassers” who have targeted her as part of an “increasingly aggressive Internet campaign” by supporters of her husband’s ex-wife.
