Fed. Circ. Shuts Down $626M Apple Verdict

Law360, New York (September 4, 2012, 7:23 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit ruled Tuesday that a judge was correct to overturn a $625.5 million verdict against Apple Inc. in a suit brought by Mirror Worlds LLC over document-streaming patents, a ruling that could serve as a cautionary tale for plaintiffs about the importance of presenting sufficient evidence.

Mirror Worlds had claimed Apple directly infringed the patents and induced users of of its operating system to infringe, but the judge correctly granted Apple judgment as a matter of law because Mirror Worlds hadn't presented any evidence...
