Santander Takes 90% Stake In $256M Aussie Wind Project

Law360, New York (September 4, 2012, 6:05 PM EDT) -- Banco Santander SA has acquired a 90 percent equity stake in an AU$250 million (US$256 million) wind farm development in the Australian state of New South Wales, project operator CBD Energy Ltd. said Tuesday.

CBD Energy, a renewable energy company based in Sydney, said that Banco Santander will hold the majority equity stake in the Taralga wind project once final due diligence is completed. CBD Energy will retain control of the remaining 10 percent stake.

The Taralga project will have an installed capacity of 106.8 megawatts...
