Romney Offers Up Plan To Reform Housing Market

Law360, New York (September 5, 2012, 8:17 PM EDT) -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney released an overview of his housing plan Tuesday, pledging to privatize Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and to sell the 200,000 foreclosed homes owned by the government that now stand vacant.

In a statement announcing the plan, released on the former Massachusetts governor's campaign website, Romney assailed President Barack Obama for taking a "government-centric" approach to the problem and failing to fix government-backed home lending giants Fannie and Freddie.
