DuPont To Pay $55.5M For Property Cleanup Claims

Law360, New York (October 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A West Virginia jury has reportedly ordered DuPont to pay about $55.5 million for property cleanup claims at a 112-acre waste site believed to be contaminated with arsenic, cadmium and lead.

The Harrison County Circuit Court jury reached its decision Monday after deliberating for about seven hours, the Associated Press reported. The jury will now determine whether DuPont should be hit with additional punitive damages in the fourth part of a four-part trial.
