Montreal Security Co. Goes Private With Apax In $1B Deal

Law360, New York (September 07, 2012, 6:03 PM ET) -- The CEO of Montreal-based Garda World Security Corp. and global private equity firm Apax Partners have formed a consortium to purchase Garda for CA$1.1 billion ($1.12 billion) in cash, the parties announced Friday.

In a deal that already has the unanimous approval of the company's board of directors, Garda CEO Stephan Cretier, who also helped found the company in 1995, will team up with a subsidiary of funds advised by Apax to buy all of Garda's Class A shares at CA$12 each.
