Brazil Judge Lifts Injunction On Anglo Iron Ore Project

Law360, New York (September 10, 2012, 11:34 PM EDT) -- A Brazilian federal judge on Monday reportedly lifted an injunction blocking work on U.K.-based mining company Anglo American PLC's iron ore project in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais because of environmental concerns over a nearby cave.

Judge Lincoln Pinheiro Costa lifted the injunction, agreeing with the mining giant's proposal to reduce the protected zone around the cave from 250 meters to 100 meters, according to Brazilian financial newspaper Valor Economico.
