Unfair Acts Ruling May Save Calif. Insurers From Stiff Fines

Law360, New York (September 14, 2012, 6:55 PM ET) -- More California insurers may be emboldened to fight back against heavy fines proposed by the state Department of Insurance for alleged unfair and deceptive practices after a California administrative law judge ruled recently the department had overstepped its bounds while enforcing the Fair Claims Settlement Practices Regulations, experts say.
