O2Micro Sues Sony, Rohm Over LCD Patents

Law360, New York (August 01, 2005, 12:00 AM ET) -- Electronics power management company O2Micro has sued Japanese electronics makers Sony Corp. and Rohm Co. Ltd. over a patent for liquid crystal display (LCD) television sets.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District for the Eastern District of Texas, accuses the Japanese companies of infringing three patents with “certain Sony LCD TVs and other LCD products containing certain Rohm integrated circuits.”
