Carlyle Buys Back Landmark Aviation From Private Equity Pair

Law360, New York (September 17, 2012, 3:42 PM EDT) -- The Carlyle Group has agreed to buy Landmark Aviation from a pair of other private equity firms, it said Friday, continuing a spate of acquisitions with a rare move to take back a former portfolio company after unloading it.

Washington-based Carlyle did not disclose financial terms of the deal, which lifts Landmar's ownership from Chicago's GTCR LLC and Houston-based Platform Partners LLC. Rumors of a potential sale that surfaced last month in various news outlets pegged a purchase price as high as $700 million.
