Heineken Closes In On $4.5B Brewer Buy After ThaiBev Nod

Law360, New York (September 19, 2012, 1:37 PM EDT) -- Dutch beer maker Heineken NV cleared a big hurdle in winning control of Asia Pacific Breweries Ltd. after rival bidder Thai Beverage PCL accepted Heineken's SG$5.5 billion (US$4.5 billion) offer to acquire majority control of Asia Pacific from its Singaporean parent company, ThaiBev said Tuesday.
