Judge Denies Injunctions In Imax Movie Patent Case

Law360, New York (August 4, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A patent dispute pitting big-screen movie pioneer Imax Corp. against a boutique technology vendor is raising questions about the ownership of the next generation of film technology.

In March, Imax sued rival In-Three Inc. for infringing a 1986 patent Imax purchased from an inventor a month earlier. In April, In-Three answered with a counter suit. Both entertainment technology companies sought injunctions.
