US Urges Brazil To Call Off Tariff Increases

Law360, New York (September 20, 2012, 8:52 PM EDT) -- U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk this week urged Brazil to pull back on its recently announced tariff increases, saying the higher import taxes would put a damper on U.S. exports to the country, according to a Thursday news report.

A representative for the Office of the USTR on Thursday confirmed to Law360 that a letter had been sent, but declined to comment further on the matter.
