Law360, New York (September 24, 2012, 12:52 PM EDT) -- Insurers doing business in the United Kingdom have now been given some clarity on how gender neutrality in insurance should be introduced in December this year, but confusion remains over some elements of the European mandate.

The enlightenment comes from the U.K. government, which has published its formal response to the ruling by the European Court of Justice (ECJ) that insurance benefits and premiums should be gender neutral after Dec. 21, 2012.
