USTR Takes Israel Off IP Priority Watch List

Law360, New York (September 24, 2012, 6:33 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Trade Representative announced Monday that Israel has been removed from a priority watch list, ending a stretch of more than seven years on an intellectual property blacklist over inadequate patent protection for pharmaceutical companies.

The move comes in response to laws introduced in the Knesset, Israel's unicameral legislative body, to reform and toughen both the country's pharmaceutical data exclusivity regulations and its intellectual property law generally.
