Countrywide Hit With Another Overtime Suit

Law360, New York (October 23, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two former home loan consultants have filed a putative collective action against Countrywide Home Loans Inc., claiming the nation’s largest mortgage lender denied overtime to a class of home loan consultants and other non-exempt salaried employees.

In a complaint filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Steven Umlauf and Charles Murphy allege Countrywide’s home loan consultants were denied overtime compensation for hours worked beyond a forty-hour work week, in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
