Miss. AG Fights Appeal To Move LCD Price-Fixing Suit

Law360, New York (September 27, 2012, 6:54 PM EDT) -- Mississippi's attorney general told the Fifth Circuit on Tuesday that the state's suit accusing AU Optronics Corp., Toshiba Corp. and other liquid crystal display makers of fixing prices belongs in state court despite the defendants' attempts to move it into a federal jurisdiction.

The Class Action Fairness Act does not give the federal courts jurisdiction over Attorney General Jim Hood's suit seeking to recover damages for the alleged cartel under Mississippi's consumer protection and antitrust laws, the state Attorney General's Office said in its brief....
