Sony, Olympus Form $641M Venture To Focus On Med Sector

Law360, New York (September 28, 2012, 3:57 PM EDT) -- Sony Corp. and Olympus Corp. are coming together in a new business partnership worth 50 billion yen ($641 million) that will bolster Sony's medical-oriented business and Olympus's bottom line, according to a Friday regulatory filing.

Signing both a business alliance agreement and a capital alliance agreement, the two companies plan to combine their resources to make headway in both the medical sector, with imaging and other products, and the camera business.
