Judge Delays Decision Over Media Polling Place Access

Law360, Philadelphia (September 28, 2012, 7:56 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania federal judge held off on approving a settlement between the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Allegheny County Board of Elections over media access to polling places in a status conference Friday, instead ordering arguments to be held Monday.

The newspaper and the Board of Elections had asked U.S. District Judge Nora Barry Fischer to sign off on the settlement, which would have allowed reporters to observe the sign-in process in November’s general election and all subsequent elections.
