AstraZeneca Told To Turn Over Salacious E-Mails

Law360, New York (October 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- AstraZeneca LP has lost its bid to keep sexually explicits parts of e-mail messages between a former company official and two independent clinical researchers shielded in the multidistrict litigation over its antipsychotic drug Seroquel.

Judge Anne Conway on Tuesday upheld a magistrate judge's ruling, ordering AstraZeneca to turn over parts of the so-called Macfadden documents that it had previously redacted, siding with the plaintiffs' claims that communications between the company's ex-medical director for Seroquel and the researchers go to the heart of their claims.
