Sprint, Qwest To Spend $8M To End Landowners' Cable Suit

Law360, New York (October 1, 2012, 4:53 PM ET) -- Sprint Communications Co. LP and Qwest Communications Co. LLC said Monday they would pay more than $8 million to settle class claims that they installed fiber-optic telecommunications systems on private property in Pennsylvania without asking landowners' permission or offering compensation.
The parties filed a joint motion asking U.S. District Judge Arthur J. Schwab to approve an $8.15 million settlement, which includes at least $5.45 million for class members and up to $1.89 million in legal fees. The motion also requests that Judge Schwab certify the class...
