NY Enviro Regulators OK $1.4B Upstate Natural Gas Plant

Law360, New York (October 3, 2012, 4:36 PM EDT) -- A $1.4 billion natural gas-powered electric generating facility proposed for an inactive industrial landfill in Dutchess County, N.Y., received key support Wednesday from the state's environmental regulators, who passed the plan along to the town of Dover for final approval.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation signed off on the plans and key permits for the 193-acre, 1,000-megawatt project after finding that it would improve reliability and reduce costs for energy in the area without negative environmental impacts.
