Union Appeals Approval Of TransCanada’s Pipeline

Law360, New York (October 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A labor union in Canada is trying to throw a wrench in TransCanada Corp.’s $2.9 billion proposal to build an oil pipeline to the United States, claiming that the plan will slow down job creation in the energy industry.

The Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union said Wednesday that it lodged an appeal with the federal cabinet over the National Energy Board’s decision last month granting the construction of the Keystone pipeline.
