GIP Closes On $8.25B Largest-Ever Infrastructure Fund

Law360, New York (October 3, 2012, 4:06 PM EDT) -- New York- and London-based private equity firm Global Infrastructure Partners Ltd. said Wednesday that it has closed its second fund with roughly $8.25 billion in capital commitments, making it the largest infrastructure fund ever.

The mammoth fund, known as Global Infrastructure Partners II, officially closed on Tuesday. It will invest in high-quality infrastructure assets globally that provide essential services in the energy, transportation, water and waste industries, GIP said.
