Google, AOL Can't Dodge Vringo's Search-Engine IP Suit

Law360, New York (October 4, 2012, 3:33 PM EDT) -- A Virginia federal judge on Wednesday refused to nix a patent infringement suit against AOL Inc., Google Inc. and several other companies brought by ringtone-maker Vringo Inc., saying the case has too many unresolved issues that must be litigated.

In September, AOL, Google and three other companies sought summary judgment in Vringo’s suit, which alleges that their use of search-engine filtering technology violates two Vringo patents.
