Judge Says $280M Ticketmaster Settlement Is Unfair

Law360, New York (October 4, 2012, 7:58 PM EDT) -- A California state judge has rejected a proposed settlement worth up to $280 million in a class action alleging Ticketmaster Entertainment Inc. deceived consumers about processing and delivery charges, saying it does not represent real value for the class.

The settlement, which would provide coupons to about 50 million class members for $1.50 off future ticket purchases, isn't fair, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Kenneth R. Freeman said in a Sept. 26 order denying a motion to approve the settlement.
