Unilever Mulls Putting $300M Skippy Brand Up For Sale

Law360, New York (October 4, 2012, 10:22 PM EDT) -- Unilever PLC is weighing the possibility of unloading its $300 million Skippy peanut butter brand, the European consumer goods giant reportedly said Thursday, part of its move to refocus on emerging markets.

“As part of a recently completed strategic review, we have decided to explore various options for our Skippy business in the U.S. and Canada including, but not limited to, a potential sale of the business,” Unilever spokeswoman Anita Larsen said in a statement to the New York Times.
