Ricoh Prevails In Patent Suit Over Photocopier Gear

Law360, New York (August 10, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge in New Jersey has ruled three companies are infringing patents held by photocopier maker Ricoh Inc., granting summary judgment to the Tokyo-based plaintiff.

In addition, the judge granted Ricoh's motion that the patents were valid and enforceable, denying the defendants' motion of invalidity.

In May 2003, Ricoh filed the complaint against Nashua Corporation, Katun Corporation, and General Plastics Industrial Co., asserting six patents related to photocopier equipment.
