NJ Sens.' Bid To Override Veto Of Port Authority Bill Fizzles

Law360, New York (October 5, 2012, 8:59 PM EDT) -- Democrats in the New Jersey Senate were unable Thursday to override Gov. Chris Christie's veto of legislation aimed at increasing transparency at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Proponents of the proposed PANYNJ Transparency and Accountability Act, which would have subjected the bistate agency to increased scrutiny of its management, operational decisions and financial transactions, needed 27 votes to overcome the governor's conditional veto of the measure in July, which they argued gutted the bill.
