NYC Expands Online Permitting Process For New Construction

Law360, New York (October 9, 2012, 8:05 PM EDT) -- In an effort to deal with a backlog of development applications, New York City has implemented a new program to allow licensed design professionals to submit plans, pay fees and obtain permits for small construction projects online, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced Monday.

The program, called Hub Self-Service, will complement the existing NYC Development Hub, a plan review center that opened in October 2011 and has since approved more than 300 new projects and generated about $1.3 billion in economic activity, according to the city.
