33 States Sue Hitachi, Mitsubishi Alleging DRAM Cartel

Law360, New York (October 11, 2012, 1:50 PM ET) -- Toshiba Corp., Hitachi Ltd. and Mitsubishi Electric Corp. were hit Tuesday with suits from 33 states and a putative class of indirect purchasers who claim the companies fixed dynamic random access memory prices, though at least some of the suits appear to be a step toward approval of settlements.

The three electronics makers were sued by the states and the indirect purchasers of DRAM products, but the indirect purchaser complaints indicate that settlements have been reached and will later be presented to the court.
