Viacom, 'Jersey Shore' Star Settle 'DJ Paulie' Trademark Row

Law360, New York (October 11, 2012, 5:22 PM EDT) -- Viacom Inc. and Paul Delvecchio Jr. — or DJ Pauly D, as he's known on MTV's smash reality series “The Jersey Shore” — have settled a trademark lawsuit filed by a Connecticut disc jockey who bills himself as DJ Paulie, according to court papers filed Wednesday.

U.S. District Judge Alvin W. Thompson dismissed the case after both sides notified him of a settlement, putting to rest allegations that MTV and Delvecchio usurped a trademarked moniker that Paul Lis had used since 1973.
