Extra Damages Bid In $22M Stent Suit Denied By Fed. Circ.

Law360, New York (October 15, 2012, 4:33 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit on Monday denied a bid by Spectralytics Inc. to add more than $500,000 in enhanced damages to the $22 million verdict it won in a patent infringement suit against Cordis Corp. and stent manufacturer Norman Noble Inc.

Spectralytics had argued to the appeals court that the $500,000 enhanced damages award by a trial judge was insufficient punishment for the willful infringement of a stent-cutting machine patent.
