NJ Assembly Sends Health Exchange Bill To Governor

Law360, New York (October 18, 2012, 6:44 PM EDT) -- The New Jersey Assembly on Thursday approved the creation of a state-based health insurance exchange for businesses and the uninsured, sending the bill to Gov. Chris Christie a little more than five months after he vetoed similar legislation.

Sponsors contend the virtual exchange — a key part of the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that President Obama signed in 2010 — will help provide individuals and small businesses with access to affordable, qualified health insurance options.
