Kinder Morgan Unit Fined Over Oil Spill At NJ Facility

Law360, New York (October 18, 2012, 8:31 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation on Wednesday hit Kinder Morgan Liquids Terminals LLC with a $425,000 penalty for pipeline safety violations that contributed to a 8,600-gallon oil spill in 2009 at a terminal facility in New Jersey.

Kinder Morgan must also make several improvements to the facility and other equipment as part of a settlement.
