Producers Seek $100M From Alleged 'Rebecca' Fraudster

Law360, New York (October 19, 2012, 3:23 PM EDT) -- The producers of the Broadway musical “Rebecca” filed a complaint in New York state court Friday seeking $100 million from the now-jailed consultant who allegedly gave them false promises of financing and made up elaborate biographies for nonexistent investors.

Mark Christopher Hotton, who was charged Oct. 15 and is being held pending his federal criminal fraud trial, and his wife, Sherri, allegedly made up investors and promised producers Ben Sprecher and Louise Forlenza financing that never existed.
