Novatel Sues ZTE Over Mobile Hotspot Patent

Law360, New York (October 23, 2012, 1:49 PM EDT) -- Novatel Wireless Inc. said Tuesday it had filed a lawsuit against Chinese telecommunications company ZTE Corp. and its U.S. subsidiary for allegedly infringing a patent covering mobile hotspot and wireless data modem technology.

The complaint, filed in California federal court, alleges ZTE's products flout a patent related to Novatel Wireless' line of MiFi mobile hotspot devices. It is the second suit Novatel Wireless has brought against ZTE over its mobile hotspot and wireless data modem technology.
