Apple Takes Aim At Burst’s Media Patents

Law360, New York (October 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Apple Computer Inc. has waged an attack on Inc. in its declaratory judgment suit, contending that Burst’s four patents covering high-speed networks for multimedia products are invalid on a number of fronts.

Apple fired off three separate summary judgment motions in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Monday, claiming that Burst’s patents are indefinite and lacked enablement and that Burst took too long to bring claims against Apple’s iPod and iTunes products and Quicktime software.
