Dewey Ex-Partners Committee Fights Against Dissolution

Law360, New York (October 25, 2012, 10:41 PM EDT) -- The official committee of former Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP partners on Wednesday blasted the defunct firm's bid to disband it, saying the motion had no basis in law and was motivated by the committee's opposition to a recently approved $71.5 million clawback deal.

In an objection filed in New York bankruptcy court, the committee, which represents 200 retired partners and surviving spouses, says the court lacks the authority to dissolve a committee appointed by the U.S. Trustee.
