Altana Pharma Sues Sun Again Over Heartburn Drug Patent

Law360, New York (August 18, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- German drug maker Altana Pharma AG and its U.S. partner Wyeth Pharmaceuticals are once again suing Mumbai, India-based Sun Pharmaceuticals over plans to make generic versions of a popular drug for severe heartburn.

The new complaint, filed in U.S. District Court for New Jersey, addresses Sun’s alleged infringement of a patent used in covering a specific dosage and distribution method of Altana’s medication Protoxin.
