Merrill Lynch Sues Mystery Racist E-Mailer

Law360, New York (November 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. has sued the unidentified person who allegedly sent racist e-mails to black brokers at the company from the account of a Merrill Lynch manager for causing "irreparable damage" to the prominent bank's trademark and prestige.

Merrill Lynch filed suit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York against "John Doe," who the company believes is based in the Midwest.
