NY Infrastructure Can't Handle New Climate Reality: Cuomo

Law360, New York (October 30, 2012, 5:41 PM EDT) -- New York state, battered by a second powerful Atlantic storm in 14 months, will have to adjust to a "new reality" of tropical weather events requiring massive infrastructure upgrades to reduce future disruptions, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday.

The Democratic governor's comments came during a late-morning press briefing as New York City, especially hard-hit by Hurricane Sandy on Monday night, lay in a state of semi-paralysis with subways, roads, schools, many government operations and businesses, including the New York Stock Exchange, shuttered.
