Inventor Hits Texas Cancer Hospital With $10M Royalties Suit

Law360, Houston (October 30, 2012, 7:00 PM EDT) -- An inventor hit a Houston cancer hospital and Medtronic Inc. with a suit in Texas state court Tuesday, alleging the hospital cut him out of $10 million in contractually owed royalties from one of his creations the hospital licensed to the medical device company.

Robert Tcholakian claims The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center licensed his invention that helps prevent infections in implant patients to Medtronic for some $67 million and agreed to pay him royalties of up to 15 percent but backed out....
